SUSHI SEX & SUBTITLES | IN MY FEELINGS

Healthy single people make healthy married people.

Mark 10:17-22

As Jesus was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But at these words, he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.

Mark 10:17

“Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

  • Don’t look for the destination if you’re still fighting the journey

Who you’re WORKING on is more important than who you’re WAITING on.

The person you are DATING will not be the person you END up with.

Marriage won’t MINIMIZE your issues it will MAXIMIZE your secrets.

Marriage is all about fighting FOR each other not WITH each other.

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

1 Peter 5:5

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Mark 10:19-20

You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’ “Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve never once broken a single one of those laws.”

Don’t try to skip the parts of your journey you don’t like

Mark 10:21

Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Before God shows us what we get, He shows us what to forget

Philippians 3:13-14

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me

One thing I lack: I have to let go of ______________________________

Your future is going to cost you your past.

3. Do you feel the need to find identity in something you do or or a title you have? How does that impact you?

4. Is there something in your life you are trying to build your identity around?

5. What areas of your life do you resist God's limitations for your own feelings the most?

Action Step: Make note of certain scriptures that declare the truth of God over your life so you aren't looking elsewhere for that truth.

Prayer Focus: Pray for God to reveal to you who you are in His eyes.
